Team Overview:
Data Science and Artificial Intelligence represents the next phase in the advancement of our digital transformation and is a significant evolution for MasterCard. We continue to evolve our Data Science and AI strategy to support aggressive growth plans, and we are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our team. Are you an expert developer with the vision to guide complex projects from ideation to implementation? If so, we want you on our team!
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Develop complete understanding of end-to-end technical architecture and dependency systems.• Participate in team prioritization discussions with Product/Business stakeholders. • Estimate and own delivery tasks (design, dev, test, deployment, configuration, documentation) to meet the business requirements. • Automate build, operate, and run aspects of platform(Cloudera AI).• Trouble shoot use cases with end users and address the concerns w.r.t to the platform. • Report status and manage risks within their primary application/service. • Drive integration of services focusing on customer journey and experience. • Perform demos/acceptance discussions in interacting with Product owners. • Explore new tools and technologies and do evaluations through meaningful POCs.• Drive adoption of technology standards and opinionated frameworks, and review coding, test, and automation work of team members • Identify opportunities to improve an overall process. • Share and seek knowledge within their Guild/Program to drive reuse of patterns/libraries/practices and enhance productivity.
Skills & Experience: • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field• 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering with exposure to Data Science, Machine Learning, Kubernetes & Spark. • Strong proficiency in programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, or Scala) and frameworks (e.g. Pandas, Spring boot)• Prior experience with MLOPs (model training, serving and monitoring platforms like ML Flow, Fiddler etc.) • Able to perform debugging and troubleshooting to analyze core, heap, thread dumps and address platform issues.• Understands and implements standard CI/CD practices (e.g. Jenkins) • Has skills to collaborate with team and business stakeholders to estimate requirements (e.g., story pointing) and prioritize based on business value.• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Databricks) is a plus.• Familiarity with Neural Networks, GenAI, LLMs is a plus.
