About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who specializes in back-end development on modern cloud-based infrastructure to join our team, grow with us, introduce us to new ideas and develop products that empower our users. We are seeking a Senior Python Developer with a passion for tackling complex problems and a deep understanding of distributed systems. This role involves the development of innovative portfolio calculation applications and integrating with various products. The ideal candidate will bring a strong problem-solving mindset and a thorough knowledge of design principles to our dynamic team.
Job Responsibilities

• Build well designed, well-engineered, stable, scalable features and solutions for the portfolio service.
• Technical product ownership and responsibility to adhere to established guidelines through peer reviews for design and code, unit test results and deployment process for improving development team productivity.
• Mentoring other members of the development team.
• Work with the SRE team to apply DevOps practices in area of continuous and automated deployment.
• Analyze and remediate production issues and build instrumentation and operational readiness into the systems architecture.
• Solve investors' problems with technology, understanding market chaos at work and crafting technically appropriate interactive experiences to communicate effectively with individual investors.
• Be constantly looking for opportunities for improvement, seizing them, and then sharing your findings with others.
• Be hyper-focused on the stability and quality of the product.

Qualifications

• Friendly and enjoys working in a collaborative team with excellent spoken and written communication skills. Humble, honest, and to the point.
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in building backend services by using Python.
• Python programming, async io, restful API and gRPC. Understand how to tune the performance for the services written in Python.
• Popular libraries such as numpy and pandas to manipulate the data in Python.
• Be able to do System Design for a module in detailed level, understand the trade-offs.
• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns.

Nice to have

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
• Building and deploying containerized applications
• Experience with Amazon Web Services technologies like CloudFront, S3, RDS, EKS, OpenSearch, and ElastiCache, etc.
• Experience with other modern programming languages like C#, C++, Java, etc.
