Why this role is important for us
Our Investment Accounting area is a strategically vital part of SimCorp, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and calculation methods while providing our clients with a legally binding subledger for all supported asset classes.
We are looking for a motivated and skilled software engineer to join one of our teams. You will be a member of a self-organized, cross-functional Agile team that not only delivers core features but also introduces innovation, enhances product capabilities, and refines our solutions. The team is located in Ukraine and Poland, while colleagues in our area collaborate from Denmark and Italy.
What you will be responsible for
- Contribute across the entire development lifecycle - from requirements analysis and design to implementation, test automation, documentation, and ongoing support.
- Collaborate closely with your team, Product Managers, Architects, and peers across the area to deliver high-quality, secure and valuable solutions.
- Participate significantly in team meetings, cross-team feature refinements and planning sessions.
- Drive innovations, uphold technical excellence and quality, advocate best practices, and continuously improve our ways of working.
- Constantly learn and improve yourself, the team, and wider area.
- Think beyond the code, understand our strategy, goals and customer needs to help enhance our products and maximize their impact.
What we value
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who sees themselves contributing and thriving in this role. We believe that nobody starts a new role fully proficient, but we do expect you to have a solid foundation in several of the following areas and a keen interest to learn the rest.
- 3+ years of experience in software engineering.
- Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures.
- Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language (C# is preferred).
- Familiarity with modern engineering tools and practices, including CI/CD and trunk-based development.
- Experience working with relational databases and SQL.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn in-house tools and frameworks, including the APL programming language.
- Readiness to work in a complex accounting domain, dealing with financial and investment-related instruments.
- Good English skills (upper-intermediate or higher), both written and spoken.
Will be a plus
- Experience with cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with web development, especially Angular and TypeScript.
- Experience working with large-scale enterprise systems and fintech domain.
