We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Staff Data Engineer (Data Architect) to lead the architecture, design, and scalability of our data platform. This role will drive the strategic direction of our data ecosystem, ensuring best practices in data modeling, governance, and security while leveraging modern data technologies.
This role requires in office presence in our Palo Alto office.
How You'll Make an Impact:- Architect our data platform for scalable, analytics and operational workflows.
- Create efficiency by optimizing pipelines, cost management, and reducing data redundancy.
- Develop best practices in dbt, data modeling, data architecture and ELT/ETL pipelines.
- Orchestrate workflows with Apache Airflow and drive efficient data transformations.
- Architect event-driven data solutions for real-time and batch processing, ensuring robust, scalable systems.
- Collaborate to align data architecture with business goals and analytical needs.
- Ensure data governance and compliance for PII and sensitive data in cloud environments.
- Leverage AWS services (e.g., SNS, SQS, S3, Lambda, Glue) to manage infrastructure and ensure secure operations.
- Coach and mentor other engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and best practices on SQL, Python, and scalable data practices while driving continuous improvements.
- Drive and shape the strategic vision for the organization's data architecture and data flow , ensuring scalability, innovation, and alignment with business goals.
Let's Connect If You:
- 8+ years of data engineering and architecture experience, with expertise in Snowflake and AWS services.
- 3+ years of experience with dbt and data modeling for scalable solutions.
- Advanced SQL and Python skills for query optimization and data processing.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, security, and PII handling.
- Hands-on experience with the modern data stack (Fivetran, dbt, Airflow, Looker, Atlan, and Monte Carlo).
- Proven experience in event-driven architectures and tools.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and scale data architecture initiatives across large, complex systems.
- Familiarity with data security best practices and regulatory frameworks (GDPR, SOC2, HIPAA).
- Works collaboratively, partnering with engineering, leadership, analytics, and business teams to design scalable, high-impact data solutions aligned with company objectives.
