Responsibilities:
Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Update software or enhance existing software capabilities.
Deliver highly available, scalable, distributed systems and microservices in a production setting. Work closely with architects and technical product managers to translate overall system architecture and product requirements into well-designed and implemented software components. Take ownership of the implementation of individual software components, with a high emphasis on quality, test-driven development, and sound software engineering practices. Participate in software design reviews, conduct peer code reviews and provide input and feedback to other members of the development team. Write unit, functional, regression tests for the code created, and contribute to the test automation, continuous integration, and deployment processes together with the development team. Collaborate as a member of an agile team to get products and components developed and completed with best in class software development. Utilize technical problem-solving skills and aptitude to learn new technologies and methodologies. Create simple, robust, and scalable platforms used by other engineering teams. Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States. Telecommuting is permitted.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation. Special Requirements:
Position requires at least 4 years of experience in each of the following skills:

Designing and developing applications with programming languages such as Python, React, PHP, or Java.

Creating REST-based Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and GraphQL APIs.

Creating front-end applications using HTML, CSS, React, and JavaScript.

Utilizing Continuous Integration tools like Jenkins to deploy applications into server environments.

Cloud platforms, such as GCP, or AWS.
-
Utilizing Container tools, including Docker, and Kubernetes.
-
Designing test plans and creating unit tests with frameworks such as Jest, Mockito, or Junit.

SQL DB development such as MySQL, or SQL Server and NoSQL DB development such as Redis, or DynamoDB.

Shell scripting using Linux/Unix.

Streaming data processing platform such as Apache Kafka or Amazon Kinesis.

Version control systems, such as GIT.

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $157,647 - $194,600/year. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
