This role will be responsible for coaching and upskilling other software engineers, promoting modern application development frameworks, and driving best practices across the organization. He/ She will serve as a guide, helping to elevate the technical skills of the organization and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Additionally, this role will tackle complex technical challenges, define key technical strategies, and develop advanced reusable workflows for continuous integration pipelines. Role will ensure these workflows can be effectively implemented across the software development lifecycle by other internal teams. Role will work closely with a diverse global organization, with strong support from the Manila site. This position offers the opportunity to significantly impact the modernization of P&G's software delivery processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Coaching and Mentorship:
- Provide guidance and mentorship to software engineers, helping them to develop their technical skills and advance their careers.
- Promote and advocate for Modern Application Development frameworks among software engineers.
- Lead workshops and code reviews to upskill team members.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the engineering teams.
- Technical Responsibilities:
- Solve complex technical problems and define key technical strategies for software development.
- Develop advanced reusable workflows for continuous integration pipelines.
- Guide teams in implementing these workflows across the software development lifecycle, utilizing CI/CD tools for deployment and integration.
- Monitor and maintain software functionality in production environments.
- Collaborate with internal product teams, operations, and other stakeholders for seamless integration.
- Identify opportunities to enhance DevOps processes through automation and new tools.
- Provide engineering support for assigned tools.
- Stay current with the latest software practices, technologies, and security vulnerabilities.
Job Qualifications
Job Qualifications
- 4-5 years of experience in software development.
- Proficiency with GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
- Expertise in Python programming language and key Python libraries
- Strong experience with CI/CD tools and practices.
- Experience deploying Python applications/services as containerized workloads.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring junior software engineers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively between technical and non-technical resources and stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and ability to work autonomously.
Nice to Have:
- Knowledge of Kubernetes architecture and deployment core components
- Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
