About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and capable Senior Software Engineer to help advance our Genomics AI initiatives. In this role, you will lead the analysis and design of complex technical problems, architect robust systems, and mentor emerging talent. This position requires deep expertise in full-stack engineering, relational data systems, and algorithmic development. As a senior technical leader, you will be expected to craft high-quality code while leveraging modern AI tooling, integrating Generative AI APIs into user-facing applications, and embedding agentic workflows into our core product ecosystem.
Technical Requirements
- 5+ years of advanced TypeScript/JavaScript development with deep understanding of language features and optimization techniques.
- Extensive experience architecting and leading development with Node.js and NestJS frameworks.
- Expert-level React development with demonstrated ability to design and implement complex component systems.
- Hands-on experience leveraging GenAI coding tools and autonomous agents (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, LLM APIs) to accelerate development, refactor codebases, and auto-generate comprehensive unit/integration tests.
- Experience or strong working knowledge of integrating LLM APIs and GenAI technologies into production applications.
- Advanced PostgreSQL skills including query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning.
- Proven expertise implementing sophisticated Redis caching solutions for high-throughput systems.
- Demonstrated success designing and implementing distributed microservice architectures.
- Significant experience orchestrating infrastructure and applications on GCP, including CI/CD pipelines.
- Mastery of enterprise-level design patterns and their practical application in large-scale, mission-critical systems.

CHI: $110,000-$160,000
The expected salary range may vary for other locations. Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience. Tempus offers a full range of benefits, which may include incentive compensation, restricted stock units, medical and other benefits depending on the position.
