SUMMARY:
As a Senior Software Engineer at First Bank, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting enterprise software applications, integrations, APIs, and digital solutions that strengthen products, improve customer experiences, and enhance operational efficiency. In addition to hands-on development, this role provides technical leadership, architectural guidance, and mentorship to engineering teams while collaborating closely with business leaders, product owners, vendors, and technology partners.
The ideal candidate is comfortable leading complex technical initiatives, defining solution architectures, evaluating emerging technologies, and delivering secure, scalable, and reliable solutions across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise software applications, APIs, integrations, and automation solutions.
- Lead the technical design and implementation of complex projects spanning multiple applications, platforms, and business areas.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technology teams to identify, define, and deliver innovative solutions.
- Design and maintain secure, scalable, and supportable architectures aligned with enterprise standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical leadership through mentoring, code reviews, architecture reviews, and development best practices.
- Develop and manage integrations utilizing API gateways, event-driven architectures, cloud platforms, and third-party solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex application, integration, and production support issues.
- Partner with infrastructure, security, compliance, and vendor teams to ensure solution reliability and operational excellence.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, development frameworks, and vendor solutions to support strategic initiatives.
- Support DevOps practices including automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and monitoring.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, procedures, and architectural artifacts.
- Cultivate and disseminate software engineering and integration best practices throughout the organization.
- Completes annual compliance courses.
- Adheres specifically to all corporate policies and procedures. Also adheres to Federal and State regulations and laws; including, the Bank Secrecy Act and the Anti-Money Laundering Act.
- Adheres to our Service Excellence standards and promotes their implementation with peers and associates they support.
- Performs other duties as required.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

- MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, API Management, or enterprise integration platforms.
- Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platforms.
- Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or other CI/CD platforms.
- Event streaming and messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, Azure Service Bus, or equivalent platforms.
- Snowflake, ServiceNow, OnBase, Salesforce, or other enterprise SaaS platforms.
- Digital banking, fintech, payments, treasury management, lending, or core banking integrations.
- AI, automation, intelligent workflows, MCP-based integrations, or Generative AI technologies.
- Banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
- AWS, Azure, MuleSoft, security, or architecture-related certifications.
Physical Demands/Work Environment: Vision, hearing, speech, dexterity, visual concentration. A valid driver’s license is required. Must have the ability to stand, walk, sit and use hands and fingers. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled. The environment is a professional office with standard office equipment.
