Overview
Mastercard® Global Data Repository-a leading technology repository that houses enhanced information (daily transactions from MasterCard issuers plus data from vendors such as airlines and hotels). GDR powers multiple Mastercard commercial products and provides enriched data to Mastercard smartdata. gen2, a scalable, global, web-based solution of payment data and information management.
Global Data Repository (GDR) maintains data in a highly secure environment behind multiple firewalls; it collects detailed data from many different sources and aggregates it into a single common format for distribution to various entities. It distributes data globally daily to issuers and their customers via Smart Data solutions, or directly to those customers using their own MIS or ERP system.
• The Applications Development Team is a dedicated collection of self-organizing, interdependent, and highly efficient co-located individuals. There are multiple teams as part of SmartData GDR, spread over (Pune) India and (St. Louis) USA.• Team members may be developers, testers, analysts, architects, project managers and product owners. The team is cross-functional, and follows the agile SAFE methods to deliver the work
Role
We are seeking a versatile Sr. Software Development Engineer who can bridge the gap between development and quality assurance using methodologies, tools, strategies, and standards based on best practices in Agile software development/quality and continuous integration and deployment. Proficient in full-stack development and building robust automated testing frameworks from scratch. Adept at driving shift-left testing methodologies, reducing deployment risks, and accelerating CI/CD pipelines to deliver high-quality software.
Role• Coordinate and participate in business requirements review/story elaborations and testing activities to deliver high-quality products and incremental value with every iteration.• Collaborate across teams as a dual-hat engineer, participating in code reviews, architectural design, and writing comprehensive test plans.• Review project test and implementation schedules. Document test plans and acceptance criteria using JIRA, Rally or such solution life cycle management tools.• Participate & contribute to requirement elaboration sessions, design the solution, point the stories and deliver them within the iteration• Develop and perform automated and manual exploratory testing to ensure software meets business and security requirements and established best practices.• Own responsibility for end-to-end product development and quality including defect management and oversight, status reporting and metrics creation, and escalation for issues discovered during the quality assessment phase.• Develop business and product knowledge over time and share such knowledge to mentor newer team members. This is not a management position; however, this position is expected to provide strong leadership to junior members of the staff.
All About You• A record of successful delivery of large software applications as Senior developer. Expertise of agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA, RALLY, SQL and Oracle Database, Rational Team Concert, Quality Center, etc.• Experience in both Unit and Integration testing needs with exposure to data virtualization tools. Additional knowledge of Unix and shell scripting will be preferred.• Expertise in software development to build and use automation frameworks using technologies: Java, Spring, JUnit, Selenium, JBehave, Soap UI/Pro, REST, JSON and XML, Eclipse IDE.• Good understanding of technical solution and software patterns (including architectural & design patterns) at various levels.• Demonstrated experience developing high-quality strategies and execution - specific focus on cross browser and cross device testing.• Ability to create good acceptance and integration test automation scripts and integrate with Continuous integration (Jenkins/Bamboo) and code coverage tools (Sonar, Clover) to ensure 80% or higher code coverage.• Exposure to product ssdelivery, performance engineering and profiling (e.g. Java JVM, Databases) and tools such as Load Runner and JMeter desirable.• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail, critical thinking, solid communication and proven leadership skills - with the ability to lead multiple test paths simultaneously.
