As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll help design, build and support solutions that address real security challenges across the bank. You'll work closely with engineers, product owners and security specialists to deliver high-quality software, drive continuous improvement and help solve problems at scale.

You'll join a growing engineering capability focused on solving recurring and emerging security challenges through automation, APIs and modern engineering practices.

The team supports a range of security engineering initiatives across the group, building solutions that improve operational efficiency, strengthen security outcomes and help address complex problems in scalable and repeatable ways.

Working alongside software engineers, architects, product owners and security specialists, you'll contribute to the development of modern engineering solutions while continuously expanding your technical knowledge and capability.

Software Engineering & Delivery

  • Design, build and support scalable APIs, automation services and software solutions

  • Develop solutions that address complex security and operational challenges across the organisation

  • Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from design and development through to testing, deployment and production support

  • Deliver high-quality, maintainable code using modern engineering practices

Engineering Excellence

  • Champion engineering best practices across testing, CI/CD, observability and operational support

  • Contribute to improving reliability, performance and maintainability across engineering solutions

  • Participate in code reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives

Collaboration & Problem Solving

  • Work closely with engineers, product owners and security teams to deliver impactful solutions

We're interested in hearing from people who have

  • Strong full-stack software engineering experience with deep backend engineering expertise

  • Experience building and supporting software across the full development lifecycle, from design and development through to testing, deployment and production support

  • Experience designing and building APIs, automation solutions or distributed systems

  • Solid programming experience in Python or similar modern programming languages

  • Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure

  • Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices including CI/CD, testing and deployment automation

  • Experience working in Agile teams and contributing to end-to-end delivery

  • Strong problem-solving capability and a passion for continuous improvement

  • Learning agility and curiosity, with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and unfamiliar challenges

Experience in cyber security, security engineering, incident response or related environments will be highly regarded but is not essential.
