Job DescriptionWe are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team in our Global Capability Center (GCC). The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, GraphQL, Microservices Architecture, and Cloud-native application development. You will work closely with architects, product managers, and cross-functional engineering teams to build scalable, secure, and high-performance enterprise applications.
This role requires a hands-on engineer who can drive technical excellence, collaborate with onshore leads and product teams on complex integrations, mentor junior developers, and deliver high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build and enhance RESTful APIs and GraphQL APIs to support enterprise-scale applications.
- Design and develop microservices-based architectures with high availability and resilience.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Develop secure, performant, and reusable application components.
- Participate in architecture reviews, design discussions, and technical decision-making.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Implement automated unit tests, integration tests, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while ensuring application stability.
- Mentor junior developers and promote engineering best practices.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and software development best practices.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in software development.
- Strong programming expertise in Java 8/11/17+.
- Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC and knowledge on Spring Security.
- Strong knowledge of GraphQL development and API design principles.
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
- Strong understanding of Microservices Architecture.
- Experience with relational databases such as:
- PostgreSQL (preferred)
- DB2
- MySQL
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as:
- MongoDB
