Job Details

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft .NET, C#, and Microsoft Azure to design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available APIs. This role is responsible for technical ownership of backend services in an Azure-first environment and for contributing to architecture, reliability, and engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using C# and modern .NET in Microsoft Azure

  • Own the full lifecycle of Azure-based API development, including design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing support

  • Architect solutions using Azure services to ensure scalability, security, and high availability

  • Implement and maintain API security using Azure AD, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT

  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, and front-end teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions

  • Lead technical design reviews and contribute to cloud and application architecture decisions

  • Monitor and optimize application performance, reliability, and cost in Azure

  • Review code, enforce engineering standards, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues in cloud-hosted environments

  • Improve CI/CD pipelines and development workflows using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or 4+ years of related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Experience

  • Required:

    • 7+ years of professional software development experience

    • Strong expertise in C# and modern .NET (.NET 6/7/8)

    • Extensive experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs

    • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, such as: Azure App Service, Azure Functions, or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)Azure SQL Database or SQL ServerAzure Storage, Key Vault, and Application Insights

    • Solid understanding of object-oriented design, SOLID principles, and design patterns

    • Experience with authentication and authorization in Azure environments

    • Strong experience with automated testing (unit, integration, and API tests

  • Preferred:

    • Experience with microservices and distributed systems in Azure

    • Familiarity with containerization using Docker and orchestration with AKS

    • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (ARM, Bicep, or Terraform)

    • Knowledge of messaging and event-driven architectures (Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, Confluent/Kafka)

    • Experience documenting APIs using Swagger / OpenAPI

Schedule: This is a full-time position with an expectation to work an average of 40 hours per week and be available outside of normal business hours to meet customer expectations on an ad-hoc basis. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.

Travel: Travel may be required for special organization or department events, department team meetings, trade shows, conferences, and other client engagements.

This is a remote position.
