Job Details
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft .NET, C#, and Microsoft Azure to design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available APIs. This role is responsible for technical ownership of backend services in an Azure-first environment and for contributing to architecture, reliability, and engineering best practices.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using C# and modern .NET in Microsoft Azure
Own the full lifecycle of Azure-based API development, including design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing support
Architect solutions using Azure services to ensure scalability, security, and high availability
Implement and maintain API security using Azure AD, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT
Collaborate with product managers, architects, and front-end teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Lead technical design reviews and contribute to cloud and application architecture decisions
Monitor and optimize application performance, reliability, and cost in Azure
Review code, enforce engineering standards, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues in cloud-hosted environments
Improve CI/CD pipelines and development workflows using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions

Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or 4+ years of related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Experience
Required:
7+ years of professional software development experience
Strong expertise in C# and modern .NET (.NET 6/7/8)
Extensive experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, such as: Azure App Service, Azure Functions, or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)Azure SQL Database or SQL ServerAzure Storage, Key Vault, and Application Insights
Solid understanding of object-oriented design, SOLID principles, and design patterns
Experience with authentication and authorization in Azure environments
Strong experience with automated testing (unit, integration, and API tests
Preferred:
Experience with microservices and distributed systems in Azure
Familiarity with containerization using Docker and orchestration with AKS
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (ARM, Bicep, or Terraform)
Knowledge of messaging and event-driven architectures (Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, Confluent/Kafka)
Experience documenting APIs using Swagger / OpenAPI

Schedule: This is a full-time position with an expectation to work an average of 40 hours per week and be available outside of normal business hours to meet customer expectations on an ad-hoc basis. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
Travel: Travel may be required for special organization or department events, department team meetings, trade shows, conferences, and other client engagements.
