Software Engineer, Client-Desktop & Mobile

What you'll do
We're looking for a Mid-level Software Engineer to join our Zero Trust team. You will be working on the of our Zero Trust clients, which protects corporate devices by securely and privately sending traffic from those devices to Cloudflare's global network, which can apply advanced web filtering and advanced Zero Trust policies.
In your role, you will use (Kotlin Multiplatform, Flutter, React Native, Tauri, etc.) along with platform-native languages & APIs to implement responsive and user-friendly apps that run on desktop and mobile platforms. You will also use alongside platform-native languages and APIs to implement code for both our Mobile and Desktop apps.
You'll be expected to improve the code quality and to build solid, , and foundations. You will be most successful in this role if you have a good understanding of the (mobile and desktop), experience working on , a decent understanding of (virtual memory, multi-threading, process lifecycle, etc.) and (VPNs, firewalls, TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, QUIC, H/3, proxying, etc.). You will also have to interact with other languages, such as Swift, Kotlin, C#, C, Java and Rust.
As a Mid or Senior Software Engineer, you will be expected to make significant contributions to the design and implementation of major development projects, working closely with our product managers and other teams to implement customer-impacting features. You will work on stimulating problems born out of the scale of our deployment, and the stringent quality, performance, and security requirements of our product.

• Experience with (Kotlin Multiplatform, Flutter, React Native, Tauri, etc.) and good familiarity and understanding of of one or more platforms (macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android)
• Great experience successfully using , such as Swift, Kotlin, C#, as well as, such as Rust, C, C++
• Very comfortable writing code
• Experience with lower level (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, QUIC, H/3, proxying, etc.) and an understanding of , such as VPNs, PKI, firewalls, etc.
• Strong experience with , both at the and
• Excellent programming skills, with experience writing very code with thorough documentation.
• Strong experience writing and (e.g. using dependency injection with the right abstractions)
• Empathetic, proactive, and constructive , verbal and written

Compensation
Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location.

• For Colorado-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $137,000 - $167,000
• For New York City, Washington, and California (excluding Bay Area) based hires: Estimated annual salary of $154,000 - $188,000
• For Bay Area-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $162,000 - $198,000
