What you’ll achieve
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for contributing to the design, development, and optimization of our next‑generation virtualized platform and deduplication‑based file system. In this role, you will work across the full development lifecycle, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and help shape the future of our cloud‑ready storage technologies.
You will:
- Design and implement core components of a virtualized platform, including advanced file system technologies such as deduplication
- Develop and enhance product features for cloud and virtualization environments, ensuring scalability and reliability
- Produce high‑quality design documentation and functional specifications to support engineering and architectural decisions
- Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including architecture, coding, debugging, deployment, and performance optimization
- Partner with QA and cross‑functional stakeholders to define integration testing, validate system behavior, and clearly communicate technical risks and project status

Essential Requirements
- 5+ years related experience or equivalent skill
- Strong understanding of core computer science fundamentals
- Proficiency in C, C++, and Python programming languages
- Familiarity with Linux kernel concepts and systems programming
- Experience working with virtualization technologies such as Kernel‑based Virtual Machine, VMware, and Microsoft Hypervisor
Desirable Skills
- Bachelors degree
- Experience with system‑level and shell programming; knowledgeable in major cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform; skilled in performance profiling and tuning within virtualized environments; understanding of file system internals, log‑structured file systems, and core storage system concepts
Compensation
Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary range for this position is $171,700-$222,000.
