We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team in our NYC office (Hybrid). In this role, you will leverage your deep expertise in full-stack development, with a strong focus on Python and modern front-end frameworks, to design, build, and scale high-quality software that powers our core applications. You’ll work across the stack to deliver secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions while contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.

A unique and critical aspect of this position is hands-on experience integrating with telephony and unified communications platforms such as Nextiva, Zoom Phone, RingCentral, AWS Connect, or Asterisk. With 3-4 years of experience in this space, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing and maintaining integrations that connect our platform to these essential communication systems. Working closely with cross-functional partners in product, design, and data, you’ll help advance our technical strategy, troubleshoot complex real-time communication challenges, and set the foundation for scalable, cloud-native solutions that will define our next stage of growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Design & Development: Build robust, scalable, and secure software solutions using Python, React, and other modern frameworks and tools, with a focus on performance and maintainability.
  • Telephony Integrations: Develop, integrate, and manage APIs from third-party telephony and unified communications systems (e.g., Nextiva, Zoom Phone, RingCentral, Asterisk Server) to expand and enhance our product offerings.
  • Cloud Engineering: Utilize cloud-native technologies—preferably AWS—along with infrastructure-as-code tools such as CDK or Terraform to provision, configure, and optimize services.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product managers, designers, QA, and fellow engineers to scope, design, and deliver high-quality features that align with business goals.
  • Code Quality & Standards: Write clean, testable, and well-documented code; participate in regular code reviews; and enforce engineering best practices across the team.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Investigate, debug, and resolve complex technical issues affecting telephony integrations and the core application, ensuring platform reliability and user satisfaction.
  • Lifecycle Ownership: Contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle, from initial architecture and design discussions through development, testing, deployment, and long-term maintenance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging technologies and engineering practices, proactively suggesting and implementing improvements to strengthen our systems and processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
  • 7 - 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with a proven track record of delivering production-ready, scalable web applications.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python with hands-on experience using frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI to build high-performance services and APIs.
  • Strong experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as React, Next.js, or Vue.js, with a focus on building intuitive, responsive, and performant user interfaces.
  • Telephony / UCaaS: 3–4 years of direct, hands-on experience integrating with telephony and unified communications platforms such as Nextiva, Zoom Phone, RingCentral, or related systems.
  • Real-Time Communications: Deep understanding of real-time communication frameworks (e.g., Asterisk) and protocols such as WebRTC, with experience troubleshooting and optimizing them in production.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, webhooks, and data synchronization patterns, with the ability to design and maintain clean, reliable integrations.
  • Experience working with both relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL systems, including schema design and query optimization.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, primarily Git, and experience contributing to collaborative, team-based development workflows.

Compensation: In addition to salary, Total Rewards include bonus eligibility, a stock option package, and benefits as outlined below. The role described above offers a base salary of $130,000 to $170,000 + bonus incentive eligibility. Your offer will be based on location, the alignment of your qualifications with the requirements of the job and internal equity.

Benefits:

  • Robust Health Care Plans (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • Generous Parental Leave
  • Flexible Time Off (FTO) Policy - Time Off When You Need It
  • Retirement Plan (401k) with company match!
  • Educational Assistance/Tuition Reimbursement up to $3K/year
  • Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)
  • Short Term / Long Term Disability
  • Robust Ancillary benefits including accident insurance, hospital insurance, etc
  • Wellhub (Gympass) Wellness Benefit
  • Powersports Safety Benefit
