We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer to contribute to and help shape our innovative Unbox product line. This role requires strong full-stack technical expertise, collaborative problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently on complex challenges. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build and scale our personalized marketing tool that delivers customized print materials across our warehouse network, making a meaningful impact on our platform and the supply chain industry.

You'll be expected to provide input on product strategy, leveraging your technical expertise to identify opportunities and help guide product evolution.
This role will collaborate with product development teams responsible for taking an existing product to the next level, both in functionality and scale, while working within our larger R&D division of multiple teams.

What You'll Do:

Technical Execution:

  • Drive the complete lifecycle of new features from conception, testing, to iterative delivery across our full stack

  • Build and maintain scalable serverless backend services using Python, Node.js, and Go

  • Develop responsive, user-friendly frontend applications using React and TypeScript

  • Work with cloud infrastructure on AWS, leveraging Lambda, Aurora, S3, and other serverless technologies

  • Integrate hardware components including Raspberry Pis and OpenWRT routers with AWS IoT services

Collaboration & Technical Contribution:

  • Partner with teams across the organization to gain insights into customer and vendor needs

  • Collaborate on technical decisions and contribute to architectural discussions

  • Participate in code reviews and help maintain high standards for code quality

  • Work within a team environment to optimize infrastructure, deployments, and developer experience

  • Customer Support: Support our products and services for both internal and external users, ensuring reliability and performance

What You'll Need:

Technical Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering with deep knowledge of Python and React

  • 2+ years of cloud hosting experience, preferably AWS (other cloud platforms welcome with willingness to learn)

  • Experience with serverless architectures and cloud services (AWS Lambda, Aurora, S3, EventBridge, etc.)

  • Familiarity with databases (MySQL, TimescaleDB) and data management practices

  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code (Terraform), and modern deployment practices

  • Experience with scripting, deployment processes, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred)

  • Strong understanding of full-stack development principles and modern web technologies

  • Demonstrated commitment to writing robust, clean code through comprehensive testing

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Versatile and comfortable with change, unknowns, and diverse technical challenges

  • Strong communication skills with ability to work effectively in remote and collaborative environments

  • Ability to work independently while actively participating in code reviews, pairing sessions, planning, and retrospectives

  • Positive, friendly attitude that fits with our collaborative engineering community

  • High productivity with strong delivery throughput of quality code and features

Bonus Points:
  • Previous startup experience

  • Experience with IoT systems, hardware integration, or embedded systems

  • Familiarity with Go programming language

  • Knowledge of print/manufacturing systems or physical fulfillment processes

  • Experience with Material UI or similar component libraries

  • Background in personalization or marketing technology systems

  • Contributions to open-source projects or technical community involvement
