We are searching for passionate Software/Quality Engineers to join our development team, where you'll play a crucial role in shaping Cloudera's successful Streams Messaging and Streaming Analytics products. This includes working with industry-leading technologies like Apache Kafka, Apache Flink and related components. Your work will empower customers with an easy-to-use, secure, scalable and cloud-native platform to ingest, process and analyze massive message streams in their data driven applications from Edge to AI. As a Software Engineer in Test, you will take part in our product development journey, collaborating with talented engineers and stakeholders across Hungary, the United States, and other global locations. As a Senior Software Engineer in Test, you will:

• Contribute to a cross-functional software development team, championing the quality aspects of the product delivery

• Focus on the quality aspects of our cloud-native Cloudera Streaming platform products with hybrid cloud deployment capabilities.

• Foster the evolution of the team’s CI/CD pipelines, quality tools and test suites

• Troubleshoot system level issues, root cause analysis, and resolve failures

• Measure, maintain and increase product test coverage.

• Support and control the quality of product releases.

• Develop deep proficiency in Apache Kafka, Flink and the Cloudera products built on these technologies.

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, support experts, UX and documentation teams to deliver projects.

• Provide support to our field team and customers, facilitating product adoption, smooth implementation and troubleshooting of use cases.

We’re excited about you if you have: 

• Experience with automated testing, delivery pipeline tools, CI/CD solutions.

• Proven experience in testing complex, scalable distributed software systems.

• Good debugging, analytical and problem solving skills, especially in Linux based environments.

• Sound knowledge of test methodologies and frameworks, including creation of test cases and test plans.

• Strong Java and/or Python proficiency.

• Experience with containerization orchestration technologies: Kubernetes, Docker.

• Self-driven and highly motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and craftsmanship.

• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, and/or 5+ years of relevant work experience.

• Strong written and verbal English and communication skills.

You may also have:

• Experience with Apache Kafka or Apache Flink

• Experience with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Experience with Scala or Javascript

• Proficiency with Ansible or Terraform
