Software engineering is the application of engineering to the design, development, implementation, testing and maintenance of software in a systematic method. The roles in this function will cover all primary development activities across all technological functions that ensure we deliver code with high quality for our applications, products and services and to understand customer needs and to develop product roadmaps.
These roles include, but are not limited to analysis, design, coding, engineering, testing, debugging, standards, methods, tools analysis, documentation, research and development, maintenance, new development, operations and delivery. With every role in the company, each position has a requirement for building quality into every output. This also includes evaluating new tools, new techniques, strategies; Automation of common tasks; build of common utilities to drive organizational efficiency with a passion around technology and solutions and influence of thought and leadership on future capabilities and opportunities to apply technology in new and innovative ways.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Develops, tests, and maintains software according to company coding: standards, processes, testing, risk analysis, and metrics creation.
- Utilizes customer feedback and input to guide their work and provide value in outcomes
- Works with Engineering Leadership & Product Management to translate requirements into engineering specifications and plans.
- Participate in backlog grooming sessions, actively provides feedback and input.
- Participate in test planning and collaboration with QA Engineers
- Capable of debugging and resolving increasingly complex issues.
- Develops with a quality mindset, understanding the importance and impact of leaked defects. Focuses on testable code, writing unit and integration tests.
- Collaborates with others to receive and deliver code reviews to ensure quality, alignment, and process is followed.
- Documents code-for-code quality and maintainability, collaboration and knowledge transfer, and compliance.
- Actively works to improve tools and infrastructure in collaboration with team members and with guidance from their manager.

Required Qualifications:
- Post Secondary Degree, relevant private institutional training and/or professional experience in a similar role
- Demonstrates proficiency and understanding of coding languages in use, development tools, and product & domain specific knowledge
- Technical Growth: Software Development is a passion, actively engages in learning and updating skills through directed and self-directed learning, internal and external communities, and industry news, blog posts, and forums
- Familiarity with C# / .NET Framework, GitHub, and Visual Studio
Preferred Qualifications:
- AI Integration: Incorporates the use of AI appropriately to speed efficiency, quality, and outcomes in the SDLC process, reporting, and daily activities
Canada Residents Only: The salary range for Canada residents is $82,700 to $171,900 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
