The Role
At Cash App, we are building an Operating System to power an infinitely scalable superapp. The Operating System organization is responsible for curating core experiences that connect our products intuitively for our customers; building the shared services and technical architecture that are performant and promote development velocity, and experimentation that enables us to constantly iterate on remarkable experiences for our customers.
As a software engineer on the Referrals and Incentives team, you will influence many aspects of our business through building software that enables product teams across Cash to grow by helping customers adopt their products and features through various referrals and incentives programs.
You Will

  • Partner closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and business leads to scope, plan, design, and build new features in the referrals and incentives platform.
  • Contribute to our backend services written in Java/Kotlin along with other modern stacks running on AWS/Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, data analysts, data scientists, and machine learning engineers on planning and implementing frictionless user experiences of product features through microservices, APIs, and web-apps.
  • Own features and functions throughout their lifecycle from inception, rollout, launch, scale and iteration.
  • Hold your teammates-and yourself-to high engineering standards


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software development or equivalent experience
  • An open mind and desire to learn
  • A strong desire to perform and grow as an engineer
  • A pragmatic approach with a focus on delivery
  • A drive to find flaws in a system with many moving parts and take whatever steps are necessary to fix them
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
