Our Opportunity
Snyk, a leader in developer security, has recently acquired Probely, a modern Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) provider based in Portugal, with coverage of API security testing and web applications.
In this role, you will develop our backend and APIs, adding features and improving existing ones. Our backend connects all components and teams, requiring you to collaborate closely with all teams to understand the scope and requirements of the features under development.
You’ll Spend Your Time:
- Analyzing requirements, specifications, and technical design documents in preparation for development.
- Develop backend components that support new or existing features.
- Working with the different teams to discuss and implement technical solutions, and fix and identify bugs.
- Implementing tests for any developed code.
- Reviewing and testing teammate's code.
What You’ll Need:
- At least 5 years of professional experience as a Backend Engineer, Software Developer, or similar role.
- Strong experience with Python
- Strong commitment to code quality, and the value of giving and receiving feedback through code reviews.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, and respond with agility when requirements and priorities change.
- An ability to lift the performance of a team through coaching and mentoring of more junior engineers.
- Effective communicator both verbally and in writing.

- An interest in and knowledge of security concepts is valued.
- Enjoy talking with customers to identify, prioritize and solve problems iteratively and build something that they really love.
- Feed off complex technical problems and find solutions where others see roadblocks.
