Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Python, Pyspark
In this role, you will:
- Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
- Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
- Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
- Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
- Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
- Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
- Strong expertise in Python with React / angular, with deep hands-on experience in distributed data processing.
- Hands-on experience in using Copilot AI tool for development and testing.
Desired Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in software or data engineering, including leading complex systems in regulated environments or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Proven experience designing and operating large-scale systems using PySpark, Flink and Hadoop, or similar big data technologies.
- Strong understanding of data architecture, metadata management, and performance optimization.
- The candidate should be well-versed in Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts, including different Generative AI models, Model @context Protocol (MCP), and agentic frameworks and flows
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical design discussions and influence engineering decisions across teams.
- Solid experience working with enterprise controls, data quality frameworks, and production support models.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP acceptable).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and platform modernization initiatives.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Job Expectations:
- We are open for both the locations - Hyderabad or Bangalore and will be required to work in the office as per organizations In Office Adherence / Return To Office (RTO)
- Deliver high-quality engineering outcomes during Data Center exit migrations and DPC onboarding, ensuring validations, automation, and production readiness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable, high-performance data solutions using Python, SQL, Spark and Autosys.
- Provide insights, bring ideas, and best practices into the operating model and delivery
- Actively engage in building technology and SME skills within the team
- Accountability and ownership for work done out of the India team that this role leads.
