Position Summary:
In this position you will be working with a geo-distributed team to help build out new products in a modern tech stack. As an engineer at Puppet by Perforce, you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, testing, and supporting our software products and solutions. The right candidate will have a demonstrated track record in delivering high-quality software in a fast-paced agile environment. On our team, you will be given a high degree of ownership and responsibility for the overall quality and operation of every piece of software shipped.
Responsibilities :
- Deliver customer value by independently developing multiple features, tests, and large parts of a single product within a team.
- Deliver multiple releases on time based on the agreed upon roadmap.
- Ensure timely shipment of enterprise-quality products over a range of platforms.
- Influence the direction, work, and commitments of more junior engineers on the team.
- Contribute extensively to Open Source and commercial product.
- Drive initiatives to support continuous improvement of process, quality metrics, communication and tooling
- Mentor other engineers in best practices and career improvement.
- Continuously review and make recommendations to improve processes, tools and implementation.
Requirements:
- BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 5-7 years of professional software development experience.
- Experience with working on Ruby (preferred) or Python.
- Container technologies like Kubernetes and Docker
- Fundamental knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL
- Experience using Continuous Integration systems, such as Jenkins.
- Experience of writing tests and using testing frameworks.
- Experience of the layers involved in full-stack development.
- Experience of industry coding standards and writing secure code.
- Strong inquiring, problem-solving and troubleshooting mindset.
