What you’ll be doing:
- Contribute to designing, building, evaluating, shipping, and improving Sword’s products through hands-on GenAI implementation and integration;
- Develop and maintain applications and services that leverage large language models, vector databases, and other generative AI technologies;
- Implement prompt engineering strategies, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, and other GenAI patterns to solve real business problems;
- Work alongside the Product Managers, ML Engineers, Backend Engineers and Frontend Engineers to define and implement AI-powered features for internal and external users.
What you need to have:
- 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering and system design;
- Strong programming skills (especially in OOP) with Python and familiarity with modern software development practices;
- Experience implementing and deploying production-grade applications and services;
- Familiarity with API integration, especially with AI/ML models or services;
- Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) or open-source models;
- Ability to learn quickly and dive deep into new technologies and paradigms;
- Ability to communicate concepts clearly and interface with both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
- Ability to prioritize and solve issues according to the team’s direction and goals.
What we would love to see:
- Experience implementing vector databases and similarity search for RAG applications;
- Experience building data processing pipelines or ETL workflows;
- Knowledge of prompt engineering patterns and best practices;
- Interest in healthcare technology and improving patient outcomes through innovation.
