About the role

We are seeking a seasoned generalist Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. This team is responsible for a broad range of critical areas including the reliability, scalability, and security of ResortPass’ architecture, with a daily scope oscillating from backend architecture to infrastructure compliance. You will join a team of passionate experts and work cross-functionally with high-performing Product and Data teams, enabling operational efficiency, diffusing technical excellence and implementing solutions for scale and security.

This is a hybrid role with 4 days at our energetic NYC headquarters and WFH Fridays. The base salary for this role will range from $190,000 - $210,000 per year, plus equity, commensurate with experience.

What you'll do

  • Push the team’s culture towards maturity
  • Shape the developer experience through high impact tools, secure processes and mentoring
  • Develop core backend services that enable critical business features
  • Secure our practices to maintain compliance and trust with our partners
  • Scale our infrastructure to support ResortPass’ expansion (international, new verticals)
  • Accelerate the migration towards our upcoming monorepo SOA architecture
  • Work on a modern and versatile tech stack:
    • Deployed in AWS: EKS, ECS, RDS, MSK, …
    • Languages: Kotlin, Terraform, Node.js, Python, Ruby on Rails
    • CI: GitHub Actions
    • Data: Postgres, Redis, Kafka, MongoDB, Redshift 

Your experience

  • You have worked professionally with infrastructure, devops and / or backend technologies for over 8 years.
  • You have a generalist approach to software engineering and pick the tools based on the goal.
  • You have an educated opinion on architecture patterns such as microservices, SOA, DDD and others.
  • You have developed high scale applications on relational and non-relational databases.
  • OOP and design patterns are a strong tool in your toolbelt.
  • You have a proven track record of building applications that maintain a high bar of scalability and reliability.
  • You are an empathetic communicator who can work seamlessly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You are passionate about great products that delight the customers while delivering business value.
