About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who will join the new initiative team, working on innovative cross border financial solutions. As a Senior Software Engineer at Remitly Israel, you will have the opportunity to build a platform which will serve multiple product at Remitly that affect our customers’ lives directly, taking ownership on long term and broad projects and improve the engineering excellence by developing and integrating tools and working methods. While contributing to building top-notch consumer-facing applications for millions of users using the most advanced technologies as well.
You Will:
- Lead complex, long-term, cross-team engineering efforts, collaborating with other functional and engineering leaders
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other partners to conceptualize and design new features and products that enhance our customer experience
- Architect distributed systems, and evaluate and select appropriate tools and frameworks
- Promote best practices and improve software development processes. Lead by example, writing high-quality code, and providing code reviews.
- Work on a product for real people, that brings them one step forward to financial inclusion.
- Work in quick cycles to provide incremental value to the customer
You Have:
- 7+ years of overall software development experience including development of reliable, highly available and scalable distributed systems in production environments
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience in working on complex engineering projects with multiple stakeholders and working in partnership with Product, Design and Data teams.
- Experience with multiple programming languages such as TypeScript, Go, Python, or Java. While having a deep understanding of concepts and design patterns such as DDD and TDD.
- Experience with both ralational and NoSQL databases, message broker, and microservices based environment, while understanding the pros and cons of each approach
- End to end experience on client-server applications, while taking into account user experience, performance and scalability. This includes understanding of both frontend and backend technologies.
- Experience creating detailed technical documentation, working in a multicultural environment.
- Owner - you love what you do, and you make sure you close all loose ends including testing, monitoring and productionization.
- A proactive person with a keen eye for details, who constantly wants to improve the system and grow
- Proved experience in building of modern distributed architecture, working with cloud services, message brokers and different database systems
- Work well in ambiguous environments
- Experience with fintech and payments project - big plus
