Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
Responsible for designing, developing and testing software to create industrial internet products and services tailored to the needs of the GE businesses and external customers. Work closely with product specialists, systems teams and software architects to translate user clinical and workflow needs to software epics, features, use cases, stories and requirements. As part of the team, design, develop, test, refactor and continuously improve product software. Deliver to expected timelines and quality standards. Apply Agile, Lean, Software FMEA and Continuous Integration methodologies to drive reliability upstream in the product development lifecycle. Continuously expand technical knowledge, keep abreast of emerging software technologies and apply them to MICT software. Engage subject matter experts in successful transfer of complex domain knowledge. Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project. Understand performance parameters and assess application performance. Work on core data structures and algorithms and implement them using technology chosen. Proactively share information across the team, to the right audience with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Math or related. Five (5) years of progressive experience in software development. Employer will accept a Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Math or related and three (3) years of experience in software development in lieu of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and five (5) years of progressive experience as described above.
Work experience to include: Three (3) years of core Java or C++ programming experience to include multi-threaded development; One (1) year of development using Angular; One (1) year of Microservices development using spring boot, node or python; One (1) year of REST APIs using OpenAPI; One (1) year of experience in containerization (docker), Kubernetes, and virtualization technology; One (1) year of experience in writing unit tests with Cucumber; One (1) year of experience in writing automated integration tests using BDD approach with Selenium; and One (1) year of experience in Linux or Unix based OS. Any and all experience may be gained concurrently. GE HealthCare will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
