Senior Software Engineer, Mobile Technologies (StubHub, Inc., New York, NY)
Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain impactful improvements across mobile platforms and products, resulting in high-quality outcomes. Identify, define and configure alerts, metrics monitors and telemetry signals to ensure continuous service of mobile applications and supporting backend services. Participate in the definition, improvement and retrospection of Operational Excellence practices such as incident management, telemetry implementation and baseline monitoring. Collaborate with team members to ensure best practices and high quality across code bases. Handle individual initiative priorities, deadlines, and deliverables using technical expertise. Mentor other team members to increase their technical capabilities. Develop robust, mission-critical systems using multiple general purpose programming languages including Swift, Kotlin and TypeScript. Build software with infrastructure, databases, data processing, machine learning, distributed systems, security and privacy. Design and develop solutions to complex problems with significant business impact. Assess system interactions with the broader production environment, including dependencies and platform primitives. Support projects from ideation all the way to production deployment, including feature planning and ideation. Communicate regularly and effectively with team members and cross-functional groups. Telecommuting may be permitted up to 2 days per week. When not telecommuting, must report to StubHub Inc. at 3 World Trade Center – 175 Greenwich Street, 59th Floor, New York, New York 10007. Salary: $200,000 to $300,000 per year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or any occupation/position/job title involving technical design and development of mobile technologies.
Must also have experience in the following: 5 years of professional experience utilizing Swift or Kotlin programming languages in a mobile environment; 3 years of professional experience working with a consumer facing app, including technically designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining impactful improvements across all platforms and products; 3 years of professional experience developing mission-critical systems using multiple general purpose programming languages including Swift and Objective-C; 3 years of professional experience developing new features including ideation, planning, and development; 3 years of professional experience performing maintenance of backend infrastructure, as well as maintaining and innovating large-scale, consumer-facing web or mobile applications; 3 years of professional experience working in a cross-functional environment with product and design peer groups, collaborating to create high quality and unique consumer experiences on mobile applications; and 3 years of professional experience applying computer science and algorithm fundamentals to large-scale backend and data processing systems.

The anticipated gross base pay range is below for this role. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies. Base annual salary is one component of StubHub’s total compensation and competitive benefits package, which includes equity, 401(k), paid time off, paid parental leave, and comprehensive health benefits.
