The Role
Description
Workplace Classification:
Hybrid : This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Austin Innovation Center three times per week, at minimum, or other frequency dictated by the business.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
  • Leads and generates technical solutions including specifying of requirements, functional decomposition, analysis, development and testing for current, new and major programs.
  • Lead development of software system team design content and software anomaly corrections.
  • Performs complex design analysis.
  • Specifies and balances system requirements.
  • Provide, communicate, and support common best practices among software community.
  • Performs as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for at least one platform or application component.
  • Participates in interviews.
  • Visibility: at the site/team level.

  • Uses evaluation and judgement to solve problems that are new to the organization and require a deep level of experience and strategic thought to create a solution.
  • Enhances relationships and networks with senior internal/external partners who are not familiar with subject matter and often require persuasion.
  • Uses data and analysis to demonstrate the value of a project, anticipating, and addressing objections and or concerns.
  • Often effects change in broader functional area without direct exercise of command, using persuasion in situations where reaching agreement may be hindered by differing opinions, past practices, or experiences.

Scope and Impact:
  • Challenges and problems are of a diverse scope with multiple moving parts, where developing a plan and viewing the whole picture is a significant challenge itself. Work is done independently and is reviewed at critical points.
  • Owns the development and delivery of solutions, driving cross team and group efforts.
  • Leads by example, taking responsibility for their own actions, acknowledging mistakes, and holding themselves accountable for achieving goals.
  • Addresses and evaluates a diverse range of issues using innovative methods and proposing alternative approaches.
  • Serves as a mentor to more junior level employees, providing coaching and guidance on difficult issues.
  • Has significant operational impact across their function.

Additional Description
What You'll Need (Required Qualifications):
  • 5-7 years of work experience within software development
  • Analyze Existing Code: Review and understand complex server-side APIs written in .NET or Java ensuring familiarity with their interaction with an Oracle database
  • API Development: Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, integrating backend services with external systems via APIs as required. Experience deploying to Kubernetes (K8)/Azure/On-Prem
  • Front-End Development: Ensure seamless integration of the APIs with front-end web applications built in Angular or React
  • CI/CD DevOps: Good knowledge of GitHub Actions and ADO pipelines. Able to create build pipelines.
  • Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and understand requirements, translating them into technical tasks
  • Hands-On Coding: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, test-driven development, adhering to best practices in .NET development
  • Debugging and Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues within the application, ensuring optimal performance and stability
  • Enterprise Development Practices: Participate in code management practices using GIT, including creating and reviewing pull requests, and adhering to the organization's development and deployment processes
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, product, operations and deploy
  • Cloud Technologies and Monitoring Tools: Exposure to Azure, K8, Docker, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies and apply them to improve existing applications and development processes
  • Caching/Queue/Storage: Working knowledge with Redis/MQ/S3/Distributed/Kafka

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Skills):
  • Knowledge of API Gateways
  • Full stack software development experience
  • Bachelors degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or relative discipline
