Software Engineer (Java)

A Day in the Life of the Software Engineer (Java) - About the role:

• Design and develop reusable software components using Java 21 for our cloud-native microservices-based software platform with an emphasis on scalability and performance;
• Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications and deliver high-availability and performance;
• Collaborate with a talented international team of technical and product experts to design system functionality and plan future Sprints;
• Join forces with tech leads and architects to incorporate industry best practices and company standards;
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge exchange with colleagues;
• Conduct research to solve problems and drive continuous technical improvements;
• Contribute to technical documentation;
• Create unit and integration tests and assist the QA team in validation testing;
• Efficiently utilize DevOps tools and practices to build and deploy software;
• Support the DevOps/Cloud Services team in case of deployment or production issues.

Required Qualifications - About you:

We are looking for candidates who possess the combination of the following achievements, skills, and behaviors:

It will be considered an advantage if you also have:

• 3+ years of experience.

• University degree in Computer Science or related field. 

• Experience with AI tools and AI agentic architecture.

• Proficiency in server-side REST API development. 

• Understanding of Java streams, lambdas, multi-threading/concurrency. 

• Understanding of Java asynchronous programming and non-blocking I/O. 

• Understanding of DropWizard, Spring Boot, or other application framework.  

• Understanding of microservices architecture.

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka.

• Familiarity with MS Azure or another cloud platform.

• Familiarity with NoSQL databases.

• Familiarity with distributed systems 

• Experience with Behavior and/or Test-Driven Development (BDD/TDD).

• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or other CI/CD products.

• Working knowledge of Git, Jira, and Confluence.
