About the Client

A leading North American financial services provider operating across personal, commercial, wealth management, and capital markets sectors. Following recent strategic acquisitions, the top-tier bank has significantly expanded its international footprint. What You’ll Do
  • Design and develop scalable backend services using Java.
  • Build integrations between internal platform services and external applications using APIs, messaging platforms, and event-driven architectures.
  • Translate business requirements into technical designs and implementation plans.
  • Develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality software throughout the full SDLC.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Ensure solutions meet security, logging, monitoring, performance, and reliability standards.
  • Create technical documentation and contribute to system design discussions.
  • Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements across the application ecosystem.
  • Participate in release management processes and maintain version control best practices.
  • Collaborate across engineering, product, and business teams to deliver enterprise-scale solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and act as a senior technical resource within the team.

  • Senior-level professional Java backend development experience.
  • Strong experience building backend services and enterprise applications.
  • Experience designing and developing REST APIs and system integrations.
  • Strong understanding of messaging systems and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience working with relational databases and SQL.
  • Solid understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) best practices.
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD), automated testing, and quality assurance practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Financial services, capital markets, or trading platform experience.
  • Experience working with enterprise integration architectures.
