About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in our Compute Automation function.
In this role, you will:
- Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
- Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
- Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
- Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
- Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
- Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience with Software engineering and spring boot, Mongo db, React JS
- Experience with GitHub, Jenkins usage and integrations
- Experience with business process engineering, optimization, and orchestration
- Experience with designing and enabling highly complex risk management capabilities such as rebuild/repave, data protection, and recovery
- Java Proficiency: Atleast 4+ years of experience with Java, JVM languages, and related ecosystem (Spring, etc.).
- Should have experience in Production release of an application and onboarding any new requirements
- Tech stack: at least 2 years’ experience in the following
- PCF / Openshift deployments
- Splunk dashboard analysis
- VRA / VRO / Vcenter operations
- Server provisioning
- Ansible - understand logs and issues
- SRE - Handling oncall issues
- Harness - Core concepts
- Amelia - Core concepts
- Service Now
- Event-Driven Systems: Deep understanding of event-driven architecture patterns, including message brokers like Kafka, MQ, or similar technologies.
- Full Stack Development: Proven track record in both frontend and backend development, with expertise in at least one modern JavaScript framework. Database Management: Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Cloud Services: Familiarity with major cloud platforms (Openshift, Azure, GCP) and their managed Kubernetes services.
- DevOps Tools: Knowledge of Docker, CI/CD tools like, Harness, Jenkins, GitHub Actions.
- Agile Methodologies: Experience working in agile environments, leveraging tools like JIRA or Trello for project management.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Preferred Skills – Kubernetes, Hands-on experience in deploying, scaling, and managing applications on Kubernetes. IaaC experience, knowledge of Ansible constructs and integrations.
Job Expectations:
- Code Quality: Write secure, clean, testable, observable, and maintainable code. Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
- Design and Development: Architect and develop robust Java-based applications using full-stack technologies. Focus on creating scalable, maintainable, and efficient solutions that meet business requirements.
- Event-Driven Architecture: Implement and manage systems that operate on an event-driven model, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability.
- Backend Development: Develop and maintain RESTful services, microservices, and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, or similar frameworks. Ensure backend services are optimized for performance, security, and resilience.
- Frontend Development: Work with modern frontend frameworks like React, to build responsive and user-friendly web interfaces. Ensure seamless integration with backend services.
- DevOps Practices: Engage in CI/CD pipeline development, automate deployment processes, and manage application monitoring and logging.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product Management, and other engineers to deliver cohesive solutions.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, sharing knowledge on Java, cloud technologies, and software architecture principles.
