Senior Software Engineer - Java Developer

Java - 4 to 8 Years

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java-based enterprise applications using Spring Boot.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and Microservices following industry best practices.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions and high-level designs.
• Develop integrations with databases, messaging platforms, and third-party systems.
• Design database schemas, write optimized SQL queries, and improve application performance.
• Implement security standards including authentication, authorization, and API security.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical decision-making.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards, design principles, and development best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Work closely with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation and environment management.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA teams, Product Owners and Architects to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to team members.
• Contribute to system scalability, reliability, observability, and maintainability initiatives.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, and release planning.

Required Skills

• 4-8 years of hands-on experience in Java application development.
• Strong expertise in Java.
• Extensive experience with:
• Spring Boot
• Spring MVC
• Spring Security
• Strong experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs and Microservices.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design, SOLID Principles, Design Patterns.
• Experience with containerized application development and deployment.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and database design.
• Experience in query optimization, indexing, and database performance tuning.
• Experience working with Github  and branching strategies.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience with unit testing and integration testing frameworks such as JUnit.
• Knowledge of API documentation standards such as Swagger.
• Understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Experience consuming and integrating external APIs and services.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with business stakeholders.
• Experience reviewing code and guiding junior developers.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, or other messaging platforms.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Graylog
• Experience implementing event-driven architectures.
• Exposure to reporting platforms such as JasperReports.

Education

Bachelors degree in related field.
