About the role
This role is a Senior iOS Engineer who will report to the CTO, you will join our 5th team member on the mobile team as a critical part of our mobile apps success.
What does the role look like?
As an iOS Engineer specializing in SwiftUI, you'll be responsible for building our Swift app from the ground up. Released in May, our app has already achieved 140,000 downloads and ranks high on the App Store. It is set to encompass much of the functionality of our web app, with a focus on ensuring exceptional performance and a user experience akin to leading social media platforms. The mobile app serves dual purposes: enabling creators to manage their stores, onboard, accept payments, and more, while also allowing users to consume their purchased products. Post-purchase, users will download the app to access and engage with their products.
Your key responsibilities will include implementing seamless and beautiful notifications to enhance user engagement without being noisy, building chat functionality that rivals WhatsApp and iMessage, and developing live streaming capabilities for broadcasting and viewing, including audience interaction features. You will also create a forum feature similar to Reddit for community discussions, implement interactive gamified features like a prize wheel for giveaways, develop a marketplace feature to help users discover new whops and products, and build a complex search function to navigate all accessible data and discover new features.
You will be integral in ensuring our app becomes the glue to our entire platform, currently in its infancy stage but poised for rapid growth. Our goal is to reach number one on the App Store, and you'll be a key player in achieving that.
Qualifications
- Created several SwiftUI apps from scratch
- Individually impacted core product of a highly used application
- Deep knowledge with SwiftUI, Swift Concurrency, and the Xcode toolchain
- Strong understanding of mobile design patterns and best practices, including MVVM and modular architecture
- Experience with Xcode testing frameworks
- Experience with Xcode profiling (memory and performance)
- Experience interacting with multiple APIs (REST and GraphQL)
- Experience with iOS CI/CD
Nice to haves
- Experience with Next.js
- Experience with Ruby / Rails
- Experience working 1-1 with designers
