Primary Responsibilities:
- Architect, design, and develop scalable, secure, low-latency backend services and REST/gRPC APIs
- Build and optimize distributed systems, microservices, data pipelines, and asynchronous event-driven workflows
- Integrate backend services with AI/ML models, LLM-based components, or AI-driven decision systems
- Drive design discussions, perform code reviews, and uphold engineering excellence
- Collaborate with Product, Architecture, DevOps, and Data Science teams to deliver end-to-end features
- Ensure system reliability, monitoring, observability, and adherence to performance SLAs
- Mentor junior engineers on backend fundamentals, design patterns, and clean code principles
- Build AI/ML-powered alerting, anomaly detection, and auto-remediation for dispensing and workload flows
- Create Splunk and Dynatrace dashboards, alerts, and health indicators for API and WLB performance
- Integrate system workflows with ServiceNow (incident, problem, automation)
- Document APIs, workflows, disposition logic, runbooks, and operational processes
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 6+ years in software or application engineering
- Solid Java development experience with API-first architectures
- Solid Azure experience (App Services, Functions, AKS, SQL, Key Vault, etc.)
- Experience building microservices, distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and high-throughput services
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred), CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes
- Experience in product-based companies with strong engineering culture
- Knowledge of messaging and streaming systems like Kafka, SQS/SNS, Pub/Sub
- Solid understanding of concurrency, multithreading, caching (Redis), API best practices
- Solid proficiency in Data Structures, Algorithms, OOP, System Design
- Proven expertise with Splunk, Dynatrace, and log-based troubleshooting
- Proven hands-on backend development using Java
- Proven expertise with SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB/MongoDB/Cassandra) databases
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using AI/ML for intelligent alerting or automated L1/L2 support
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerization
- Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM)
- Background in pharmacy, PBM, or dispensing systems
