The Opportunity - Senior Software Engineer II (Remote - Canada)
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer II for the Integrations team. This role will play a significant role in our mission to build an outstanding data-first company that seamlessly integrates with a variety of ERP and Accounting systems, as well as AI-enabled agents.
As a Senior Software Engineer II, you will leverage your experience in building integrations, APIs, MCP servers and data exchange systems to design, build, and operate the connective tissue between Wrapbook and the accounting, ERP, data, and AI ecosystems our customers rely on.
This is an opportunity to bring deep data architecture expertise to a team that's scaling its integrations surface — you'll own pipelines and data contracts with the same rigor you'd apply to a core data platform, while staying close to the day-to-day of shipping product. You'll have high ownership over technical decisions, partner closely with Product and cross-functional teams to shape the integrations roadmap, and balance immediate customer needs with building durable, scalable architecture for the long term.
What You'll Do
Design and build integrations, APIs, and data exchange systems that connect Wrapbook to accounting, ERP, and other third-party and AI-enabled systems
Own integration pipelines and SLAs end-to-end, ensuring data moves reliably between systems with clear expectations and well-defined metrics
Define and manage data contracts that prevent upstream changes from breaking downstream integrations and analytics
Pitch in at a code level, whether it's code reviews, executing tickets to keep the team on track, or taking ownership of critical customer data issues
Work with cross-functional partners in product, design, research, business development, and go-to-market teams to build secure, compliant, and seamless integration experiences for companies and workers
Be a technical influencer across the company, advocating for engineering-specific roadmap items and integrations best practices
Provide technical direction through design reviews and pair programming
Stand up observability across integrations so the team can understand system health and troubleshoot quickly
Advocate for quick iterative development accompanied by experimentation analysis
Participate in an on-call rotation to support production integration systems
What You'll Have
Deep technical expertise in building integrations, APIs, and data exchange systems; accounting integrations or systems experience a plus
Experience designing and developing data-centric systems, including ETL/ELT pipelines and data architecture; data architecture experience a plus
Familiarity with a variety of data lakes, BI systems, and iPaaS platforms a plus
Strong coding fluency and hands-on experience with modern data/integration tooling (e.g., Dagster, Airbyte, Airflow, dbt, or similar) as well as Python and Rails
Experience with accounting systems and basic accounting principles a plus
High ownership mentality — self-directed and solution-oriented, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to drive execution with minimal oversight
Systems and architectural thinking — proven ability to design scalable, elegant architecture that balances performance, cost, and governance
A collaborative mindset — experience partnering across product, data, compliance, and security to align architecture with business goals
An AI-centric workflow — comfort using AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code) and building AI-enabled agents and MCP servers as part of your engineering toolkit
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that allow you to effectively influence an organization
Experience working with Scrum or Agile teams

What We Do
Employers in media production and the entertainment industry are constantly hiring. Freelance employees move between projects and could get onboarded 30 or more times in a single year. And yet, much of the industry uses physical paperwork with no easy way to track payments, often struggling with compliance (due to ever-changing laws and union rules), and has few automation processes in place when it comes time to send payroll reports to their accountants. Wrapbook is an intuitive payroll and insurance solution for those balancing multiple projects. With digital solutions, simplified compliance, and comprehensive reporting, we take the stress away so employers and project-based workers can focus on the big picture. Commercial producers, filmmakers, and anyone creating media deserve robust solutions to meet their unique demands. With Wrapbook, you only have to ask for documents from cast and crew once. Our platform lets you move all the onboarding forms associated with any crew from a project to any future ones, giving you back hours. By swapping out paper timecards with digital ones, approving payroll is now a piece of cake. Crew can log into Wrapbook from any device to enter their hours and expenses. Providing producers with the right tools to onboard crew and process payments helps them put routine work on auto-pilot. That way, they can focus on more compelling tasks. Let us tackle paperwork, payroll, and insurance, so you can continue creating the work that matters.
