Opportunity Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join Upland India as a Senior Software Engineer I for our Upland InGenius product. The individual will work with our global development team integrating CRM and telephony systems.

At InGenius, we integrate Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and telephony systems, hosted either on-premises or in the cloud. Much of our work is investigatory by nature, requiring a high level of curiosity and tenacity. We work mainly in TypeScript, and have a variety of browser applications, as well as an increasingly large footprint in AWS serverless technologies including IAM and Cognito, AppSync and Amplify and API Gateway, Lambda and Step Functions, DynamoDB and S3, with CloudWatch, CloudTrail and Graylog providing operational visibility.  

What would you do?

• Develop new features using multiple technologies across both front and back end
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with your code and production environments
• Collaborate with team members to establish objectives and design more cohesive code
• Mentor and coach team members on software design and code quality
• Own the development of a feature from start to finish
• Balance technical debt vs feature development
• Be an active participant in peer reviews of code.

Experience

·        5-7 years

Primary Skills

·        TypeScript, Angular and NodeJS

·        GraphQL

·        AWS Serverless, DynamoDB and CDK

·        Understanding of browser technologies and limitations,  such as Strong understanding of core browser technologies such as the DOM, CSSOM, rendering pipeline, and JavaScript event loop. Familiar with browser limitations including same-origin policy, CORS, storage constraints (cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage), performance bottlenecks, and cross-browser compatibility challenges, with the ability to design efficient and scalable front-end solutions.

·        JavaScript build tools (e.g. Webpack)

Secondary Skills (nice to have)

·        API Design

·        AWS IAM & Cognito

·        Understanding operational visibility

·        CRM Development (Salesforce, Dynamics, ServiceNow)

·        Python & AI/LLM Skills: Hands-on experience with open-source LLMs and AI tools, including platforms like Hugging Face and models such as GPT ,Claude. Strong expertise in prompt engineering to generate reliable, consistent, and structured outputs.

·        AI Developer Tools: Proficient in using tools like Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot etc., to accelerate development workflows, including code generation, refactoring, unit testing, and problem-solving.

Qualification

This role requires overlap with multiple time zones for planning meetings, status updates etc. on a regular basis. The duration of these overlaps can change depending on the type of meeting.
