About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our Identity Phoenix team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in modern frontend development using the React/Next.js ecosystem, coupled with solid hands-on experience in backend API development (Java/Spring Boot).You will play a key role in building and modernizing our identity management platforms, ensuring high performance, accessibility, and a seamless user experience while also contributing to the backend services that power them.

Responsibilities:

• Frontend Development (Primary Focus):

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex web applications using Next.js 14, React 18, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.

  • Build reusable, accessible, and performant UI components (integrating with internal design systems).

  • Optimize application performance, managing core web vitals and ensuring cross-browser compatibility.

  • Write comprehensive unit and integration tests using Jest, React Testing Library, and Cucumber.

  • Ensure code quality through rigorous code reviews and adherence to linting/formatting standards (ESLint, Prettier, Stylelint).

• Backend Development (Secondary Focus):

  • Collaborate on the design and implementation of RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.

  • Work with search technologies like OpenSearch for complex data retrieval requirements.

  • Maintain and debug backend services, ensuring secure and efficient data handling.

  • Manage application configuration and secrets using AWS Secrets Manager and other AWS services.

  • Troubleshoot build and deployment issues (Maven, Jenkins/Pipeline).

• Collaboration & Leadership:

  • Work closely with Product Managers and UX Designers to translate requirements into technical solutions.

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical decision-making.

  • Participate in agile ceremonies (demos, retrospectives, planning).

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern React (Hooks, Context, Server Components).

• Experience with Next.js (App Router experience is a plus).

• Proficiency in CSS, Tailwind CSS, and responsive design principles.

• Experience with state management and data fetching libraries (Axios, React Query, etc.).

• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming with Java.

• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot for building microservices/APIs.

• Familiarity with build tools like Maven.

• Experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch is highly desirable.

• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins), and containerization (Docker).

• Familiarity with AWS cloud services.

         Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, Jenkins
