About Fidelity Dalian

Established in 2007, FIL Technology (Dalian) Limited was the Fidelity’s first wholly owned enterprise in China. The Dalian office initially served as a systems development centre to bolster Fidelity’s growing business in the Asia Pacific region, with a primary focus on providing technology and web-based support and services. The office has continued to expand in recent years and now acts as the central service hub for the Asia Pacific region supporting multiple business functions including systems development and support, systems infrastructure support, retail operations, finance accounting services and investment administration & fund accounting.

Team Description

The AI Platform team builds the secure, resilient foundation powering AI innovation across Fidelity. We enable scalable AI adoption through shared capabilities, strong governance and trusted engineering expertise.

About your role
You will play a key part in developing the core building blocks of Fidelity’s Enterprise AI Platform. Your work will enable teams across the business to use AI in a secure, governed and scalable way.
You will design and implement platform features, reusable components, and APIs that support high-quality AI development. You will help integrate new capabilities such as RAG pipelines, agent frameworks, observability and fine-tuning workflows.
Working closely with engineering, architecture and governance functions, you will ensure that what you build is reliable, compliant and ready for enterprise use. You’ll also contribute to documentation, automation and engineering best practices that strengthen the platform and improve developer experience.

About you

You have a generic understanding of building AI solutions and are eager to learn more about LLMs, RAG pipelines, and modern agent frameworks like LangChain or LangGraph. You have experience coding in Python and are comfortable working with APIs and SDKs under guidance. You are familiar with the concepts of vector databases and retrieval techniques and are interested in learning how to apply evaluation tools to measure model quality. You have foundational knowledge of cloud development and containerized deployments. You are aware of responsible AI principles and want to grow your understanding of guardrails and governance practices. Above all, you are curious, motivated, and enjoy learning how to solve technical problems while contributing to building reliable capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing AI platform components and deliverables under guidance.
• Learn and apply concepts related to vector databases and retrieval techniques.
• Development of backend APIs.
• Contribute to cloud-based development and containerized deployments.
• AWS / K8S DevOps.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to solve technical challenges and deliver reliable solutions.

Experience and Qualifications Required

Essential Skills and Experience

• Programming Proficiency: Skills in at least one language such as Python, Java, or Scala, along with SQL for data manipulation.
• Fluent English
• AI/ML Knowledge: Familiarity with LLMs, RAG pipelines, and frameworks like LangChain or similar.
• Vector Databases & Retrieval: Understanding of vector stores and retrieval techniques for AI applications.
• Evaluation Tools: Ability to apply tools for measuring model quality and performance.
• Cloud & Containerization: Solid experience in cloud-native development and containerized deployments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Desirable Skills

• Generative AI Toolchain: Knowledge of LLM frameworks, observability tools, and AI infrastructure components.
• Responsible AI Practices: (Internally only)Awareness of governance, guardrails, and compliance standards for AI solutions.
• Global Team Collaboration: Experience working with distributed teams across regions.
