About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Software Developer to join our team. You will work on challenging research, design, and software development tasks within our product line. You will provide input to project plans, schedules, and methodologies, developing cross-functional software products under the guidance of senior squad members.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements.
Write and review detailed specifications for the development of complex system components.
Complete complex bug fixes.
Work closely with other development team members to understand complex product requirements and translate them into software designs.
Implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
Resolve complex technical issues as necessary.
Mentor entry-level software engineers as directed by department management, ensuring they are knowledgeable in critical aspects of their roles.
Keep abreast of new technological developments.
Design and work with complex data models.
Mentor less-senior software developers on development methodologies and optimization techniques.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirement:
Experience: 5+ years experience developing Java applications
Must have:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Core Java, such as OOP, JVM, GC, Multithreading & Concurrency, Design Patterns, Exception handling, debugging techniques
Proficiency in Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot
Unit testing experience using Junit, Mock or other Java testing frameworks
Experience with build tools like Maven, Gradle
Version control systems, especially Git
Knowledge of SQL and experience with RDBMS like MS SQL, MYSQL, PostgreSQL etc.
Expertise with microservices architectures and developing well-designed RESTful APIs utilizing JSON/XML over HTTP for inter-service communication.
Agile development methodologies - Scrum, Kanban etc. Ability to work competently on Linux at command line for core system administration, process and service management
Soft Skills: Strong communication, collaboration and teamwork, Time management, Problem-solving, Ability to quickly learn, Attention to detail
Nice to have:
Handson experience with XQuery language for querying, transforming, and processing XML data.
AWS cloud experience including services like EC2, S3, VPCs.
DevOps expertise with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, ArgoCD.
Skilled with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
NoSQL database knowledge including Solr, Elasticsearch, Redis.
Messaging queue experience with SQS, Kafka.
Systems architecture design principles and patterns.
Familiarity with AI coding tools like ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot.
