Pattern is hiring a full stack Senior Software Engineer. This position is for our cross-dock WMS team, focusing on the core, foundational pieces of our "Shelf" platform, which powers our warehouse operations. Shelf is the backbone of warehouse operations—you’ll be working on mission-critical, high-impact systems that handle everything from tracking inventory to prepping products for fulfillment.
This is a full-time role and will work a hybrid schedule in Lehi, Utah.
What is a day in the life of a Senior Software Engineer?
- Develop and maintain foundational components of our "Shelf" platform, an internal system that manages all aspects of warehouse inventory and fulfillment.
- Work with a team of front end and back end engineers and operational leaders to understand and build solutions for new projects.
- Dedicate time to "hardening" the software, proactively fixing root causes of recurring issues during your on-call rotation.
- Tackle a wide range of backend challenges to maintain and improve the system's scalability and stability.
What will I need to thrive in this role?
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in a modern backend language like Ruby, Node.js, Java, Python, or Go.
- Experience with React is a must.
- SQL expertise is a must, with experience in databases like PostgreSQL.
- Experience working in AWS.
- Knowledge of Ruby on Rails is a plus but not required.
- A go-getter attitude with a passion for learning and taking on new challenges.
- Proven ability to lead projects and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder relationships.

- You will work under the supervision of a Principal Software Engineer, collaborating with a team of front-end and back-end engineers based in the US. The team follows a hybrid work schedule; Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the office, and work from home on Tuesday and Friday.
