Why it matters: Our Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) will play an integral role in driving the vision for Axios HQ as a standalone SaaS company.

Go deeper: In this role, you will make an impact to Axios HQ through the following responsibilities:

• Support the creation and evolution of our flagship product, Axios HQ
• Write clean, well-documented, and well-tested code using best practices
• Drive the development of AI-powered features, leveraging LLMs and data-driven insights to enhance Axios HQ’s capabilities
• Collaborate with Axios HQ platform, product, and design teams to ensure we quickly ship and iterate on high-quality products
• Mentor and coach members of the team through pair-programming and empathetic code review
• Stay up to date with industry trends and advise the team on best practices to implement
• Implement secure systems
• Routinely optimize application code for performance and scale optimizations
• Conceptualize and implement solutions for data storage
• Maintain highly available systems

The details: Ideal candidates will embody an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for Axios HQ’s mission and values - raise the bar, stay curious, be inclusive, always, and champion each other - and have the following skills/experience:

• 7+ years of professional experience as a software engineer
• Experience working with technologies like Python, React + JavaScript/TypeScript, Django, FastAPI, Celery
• Experience with scaling an API platform
• Experience building data pipelines. Experience with AWS Kinesis/Athena is a plus.
• Able to recommend simpler implementation approaches that will help the team move quickly
• Preferred experience: building LLM applications, especially using evals to maintain and improve performance of the application
• Preferred experience Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, PostgreSQL

Don’t forget: 

• Axios HQ believes in fair and equitable pay. Base salary for this role is in the range of $145,000 – $170,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills.
