Where you'll focus (team context)You'll join Platform Engineering and Developer Experience — responsible for CI/CD, platform microservices on AWS cloud infrastructure - at the core of how Genesys ships software, often with deep AWS-centric work (services, scaling patterns, and automation). Exact placement may vary across sibling teams within the same organization, depending on evolving priorities; what stays constant is ownership of reliable systems that accelerate engineering outcomes.
What You'll Do- Develop Microservices for CI/CD: Design and implement backend microservices — primarily in Python, with TypeScript or Go welcome for services and tooling — that support and streamline CI/CD pipelines, enabling seamless, scalable deployment processes. Expect frequent collaboration adjacent to AWS-native infrastructure, containers, APIs, and automation used across engineering.
- Advance measurable AI in the pipeline: Contribute to tooling and telemetry so AI-assisted engineering workflows stay understandable and operable—including clarity around adoption signals and reliability as AI integrates into development and delivery.
- Optimize and Enhance CI/CD Infrastructure: Build systems and APIs that automate deployment and testing environments, enhancing speed and reliability across the development lifecycle.
- Ensure High-Availability and Reliability: Monitor, maintain, and optimize backend services for high performance, contributing to the reliability and uptime of distributed systems.
- Collaborate and Mentor: Work closely with cross-functional teams to support CI/CD initiatives and share your expertise, fostering growth within the team.
- You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, ideally with expertise in developing microservices and distributed systems.
- Proficient in Python (+ TypeScript is an advantage), with a focus on building scalable backend applications and automation tools.
- You have experience working with cloud-based technologies (AWS preferred) and a passion for supporting development teams with robust backend solutions.
- Familiar with CI/CD processes and automation, and comfortable with tools that support continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
- You're skilled at diagnosing and resolving complex issues, with a mindset toward continuous improvement in both processes and technical solutions.
- You communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and believe in a collaborative, team-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing microservices architectures in a CI/CD environment.
- Solid background in cloud infrastructure and high-performance backend systems.
- Familiarity with distributed systems and the challenges of scaling complex backend applications.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and a drive to apply best practices for automation, CI/CD, and backend development in day-to-day work.
