Position Description:

Delivers high quality, innovative, and maintainable software solutions in an Agile environment. Participates in architecture and application design, and actively contributes to test automation and practices. Understands fundamental design principles for building scalable applications. Supports production applications at runtime. Provides business solutions by developing complex software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.

  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.

  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.

  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.

  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.

  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.

  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.

  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.

  • Works with distributed teams.

  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing full stack enterprise software applications using Java, SpringBoot, Angular, Kafka, and Cloud services platforms.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing full stack enterprise software applications using Java, SpringBoot, Angular, Kafka, and Cloud services platforms.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and developing scalable, resilient applications using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Apache Camel, Kafka, and Angular; building and deploying applications in Continuous Integrations/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) with Docker, Jenkins, Git, unit testing with JUnit and Mockito, and monitoring metrics and using observability tools (Datadog).

  • DE implementing Content Management Solutions (CMS) to generate documents, create com-prehensive workflows, dynamic communication forms, and approval processes, using Quadient Inspire toolset -- Designer, Interactive, Scaler, and ICM.

  • DE designing and implementing relational database models to support complex financial applications for data manipulation and retrieval within Oracle databases (RDS), using SQL queries, streamlining data access and persistence using object-relational mapping frameworks (Hibernate); and implementing version control and change management, using Liquibase. 

  • DE developing, implementing, and maintaining, highly performant and scalable financial applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud, using containerization technologies (Kubernetes) and AWS tools - EC2, Cloud Formation, Cloud Watch, S3, and Lambda.
