Position Description:
Works collaboratively with the engineering and business team to define test cases based on acceptance criteria for user Stories. Implements Java REST API automation solutions and develops automation scripts, using Java, JavaScript, Selenium, and PlayWright automation. Builds and maintains Jenkins Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines for User Interface (UI) and REST API automation. Develops REST based Web services automation using RESTAssured, Oracle SQL, SoapUI, and Docker frameworks. Delivers business solutions by developing complex test automation for applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyzes and reports test results, project tracking, and product release readiness to business partners.
- Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
- Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
- Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
- Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
- Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
- Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
- Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
- Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
- Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
- Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer and Information Sciences, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing test automation and quality engineering within enterprise Web and Application Programming Interface (API) development environments, using Java, Selenium, RESTAssured, and Playwright.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer and Information Sciences, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing test automation and quality engineering within enterprise Web and Application Programming Interface (API) development environments, using Java, Selenium, RESTAssured, and Playwright.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) implementing comprehensive test automation for responsive Web Model-View-Controller (MVC) applications built with JavaScript frameworks (Angular) to ensure high-quality performance, seamless functionality, and enhanced test coverage across the application, using Java, Selenium, Cucumber, and Playwright.
- DE designing and executing test automation for enterprise J2EE applications to ensure application quality, using Java and REST-Assured framework; and deploying WireMock in Docker containers to simulate APIs, enabling scalable, isolated test environments for integration testing, dynamic stubbing, and fault simulation.
- DE writing and executing complex SQL queries to interact with Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) databases, and testing an enterprise caching layer, using Redis for performance optimization, ensuring efficient data management and application speed.
- DE implementing DevOps practices in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) by automating CI with Jenkins and code quality scanning, using Sonar for web applications; and identifying performance bottlenecks and optimizing Web applications and APIs with JMeter, ensuring high system performance and efficient resource usage.
