Position Description:
Builds automation pipelines using DevOps concepts and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools (Jenkins, UDeploy, Docker, GIT, and Gitflow). Builds and deploys REST Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) using Java Spring, Spring Batch, Spring Rest, and Spring Boot. Develops containerized, Cloud native applications using infrastructure technologies – Kubernetes, Kafka, MSSQL, and DataDog. Coordinates data related to the software development process using SQL, Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, and MongoDB databases. Provides business solutions by developing complex software applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, creating, and maintaining test automation frameworks in an Agile (Scrum) environment, using Java, Python, JUnit, and Jenkins.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, creating, and maintaining test automation frameworks in an Agile (Scrum) environment, using Java, Python, JUnit, and Jenkins.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and developing microservice architecture applications using SpringBoot, Hibernate, and Java Persistence API (JPA) features.
DE designing and implementing CI/CD pipeline jobs to ensure build quality within Quality Assurance environments; and maintaining automation framework using Maven, Jenkins, and Groovy.
DE designing and implementing asynchronous request processing through event-driven architecture, using Azure Service Bus (ASB) and Splunk (to monitor logs).
DE designing and implementing table relations for Business Logic and achieving SQL query optimization, using indexing in IBM DB2 and MySQL (with DB systems -- Dbeaver and MySQL Server).
