Position Description:
Designs, builds, upgrades, and tests applications on multiple platforms (Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Azure), using Docker, cloud-computing, and cloud services. Works in an Agile environment, building and deploying applications using Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools Jenkins, Maven, and uDeploy. Performs full stack development using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, .NET, .NET Core, and Web Services (REST), and database development using Oracle and SQL Server. Defines, maintains, and supports a Java development environment and best practices using Maven, Sonar, and Spring Boot. Performs design and code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing using open-source frameworks (Mockito or JUnit). Uses Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), Spring Tool Suite (STS), and Eclipse to streamline application development within Unix and Windows environments. Provides business solutions by developing complex software applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing, modernizing, and securing web applications and RESTful Application Programing Interface (APIs) in a financial services environment using Spring Boot and Angular framework.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing, modernizing, and securing web applications and RESTful Application Programing Interface (APIs) in a financial services environment using Spring Boot and Angular framework.

Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and implementing secure web applications and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring framework (Spring Boot); building and deploying application components through CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Maven, and uDeploy); and developing complex, event driven and highly transactional solutions using unit-testing frameworks (Junit and Mockito) and cloud computing services (AWS and Apache Kafka) within a financial services environment.
DE developing and integrating multi-source data services into backend applications by leveraging RESTful APIs and microservices architecture, using Java and Spring Boot to optimize data access for high-performance applications in a financial services environment.
DE analyzing data and building complex SQL queries across Snowflake, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL; and designing and building data-driven data-warehousing solutions using Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, and AWS.
DE creating high-level application designs and sequence diagrams using Unified Modeling Language (UML) modeling tools (Enterprise Architect); and implementing scalable, cost-efficient solutions using Spring framework (Spring Boot) within a financial services environment.
