Job Description:
Join our high-performing team and help us harness the power of 1 billion data points per week. As a Senior Data Scientist / Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, APIs, and cloud infrastructure to support our mission-critical applications and customer-facing solutions.
You Will:
- Architect and implement efficient data pipelines and ETL processes
- Optimize database schemas and queries for high-volume data processing
- Develop and deploy scalable web APIs for secure data access and manipulation
- Build CI/CD pipelines in GitLab for deployment to AWS (EC2, Containers)
- Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver data-driven insights and solutions
- Continuously improve data infrastructure and processes
- Mentor junior team members and share best practices
You Have:
- Master's degree in data science, software engineering, or a related field
- Extensive experience with Python programming and asynchronous techniques
- Proficiency in C#, JavaScript, and web API development (e.g., FastAPI)
- In-depth knowledge of database technologies, including Snowflake, SQL Server, CockroachDB, and PostgreSQL
- Expertise in AWS services like S3, SQS, SNS, RDS, Lambda, and Step Functions
- Demonstrated ability to develop efficient, scalable solutions
- Skilled in database design, data modeling, and optimization
- Experienced with version control (Git) and problem-solving
Preferred Skills:
- Big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark)
- Data lake platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery)
- Container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Agile development methodologies
- Data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI)

Pitney Bowes Presort Services is the largest workshare partner of the USPS® with over 30 operating sites. Our national network processes over 17 billion pieces of mail annually. We provide clients with end-to-end solutions from pick-up at their location into delivery into the postal system network, providing optimal postage savings.
Location:
Shelton, CT preferred but other locations may be a potential.
