Job Description
What you’ll doDesign, build, and maintain highly available, distributed cloud platform services using Kubernetes and AWS as the backbone.
Develop microservices, automation tools, and infrastructure-as-code to support the full lifecycle of Guidewire’s SaaS applications.
Engineer for quality, scalability, security, and operational excellence, embedding automated testing and observability into everything you deliver.
Collaborate daily with engineers, product managers, and architects through pair programming and agile ceremonies to deliver impactful solutions.
Drive adoption of best practices in REST/gRPC APIs, service discovery, and cloud-native architectures.
Champion cost optimization, security, and compliance in multi-tenant environments, supporting Guidewire’s mission to deliver measurable value and efficiency for customers.
Mentor peers, share knowledge, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and responsible AI use.

Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.
Minimum 10 years of relevant software engineering experience, with a strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker).
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Java, Golang, or equivalent).
Deep understanding of microservices architecture, REST/gRPC APIs, service discovery, and API gateways.
Strong Linux debugging skills and experience with container technologies.
Commitment to proven software design principles (e.g., SOLID, Hexagonal) and automated testing.
Excellent collaboration, communication, and mentoring skills; a team-first mindset.
Experience with distributed tracing, monitoring, and observability in cloud environments.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), serverless architectures, and multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
Familiarity with cost optimization, security, and compliance in cloud environments.
Experience working in agile, fast-paced, and highly collaborative teams.
