As a Senior Software Engineer - Checkout (d/f/m), your responsibilities will include:
- Full ownership of our core logic by architecting the systems that manage everything from the first "add to cart" to the final order confirmation, ensuring a seamless flow across all domains except payments
- Responsibility for the complex state machines that power our real-time seat reservations, maintaining absolute data integrity even under extreme conditions
- Building and maintaining high-performance, fault-tolerant systems that remain resilient even when facing peaks of over one billion requests during global award shows or stadium tours
- Designing and implementing the logic required to prevent race conditions while proactively identifying and fixing performance bottlenecks to ensure minimal latency
- Leading the end-to-end architecture process, from defining API-first checkout flows to optimizing global latency and system observability
- Driving engineering excellence by implementing best practices in distributed locking, transaction integrity, and high-scale reliability
What you will need to succeed in this role:
- At least 5+ years of engineering experience and a strong background in software development with a focus on backend complexity and distributed systems
- You are a master of engineering fundamentals and prioritize robust system design over specific syntax, valuing the ability to solve concurrency challenges regardless of the language
- You have extensive experience working on high-scale B2B2C, E-commerce, or booking platforms where complex order logic and data integrity were primary challenges
- Possessing a natural mindset for building fault-tolerant architectures, ensuring that our systems behave perfectly even when 50,000 people attempt to book the same seat simultaneously
- Proven track record of identifying and resolving deep-seated performance bottlenecks within distributed environments
- A strong sense of ownership and focus on designing mission-critical solutions rather than simply writing code
- You communicate with high clarity and can effectively explain architectural trade-offs and the reasoning behind technical decisions to both engineers and stakeholders
