About the Role:
We seek a talented and motivated Backend Engineer with expertise in Ruby on Rails, Golang, AWS, and containerized environments. You’ll be working on developing and maintaining the backend services for our application, focusing on scalability, security, and efficiency. As a member of our engineering team, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects that drive our product roadmap and work with a team that values collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain reliable and scalable backend services in Ruby on Rails and Golang.
- Develop, deploy, and manage applications on AWS, optimizing for cost, performance, and scalability.
- Work with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) to ensure applications are portable, secure, and resilient.
- Collaborate with front-end and product teams to design APIs and ensure a smooth user experience.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues and improve the performance of existing services.
- Continuously improve the architecture, reliability, and performance of our backend systems.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in backend development with a focus on Ruby on Rails and Golang.
- Knowledge of AWS services (ECR, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.) and best practices for cloud-based application development.
- Experience working with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with RESTful API design and development, and working knowledge of GraphQL is a plus.
- Proficiency in database design and management (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar) and caching mechanisms (Redis, Memcached).
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues in a distributed system.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
